Mate, I regret not knowing you longer

I only new Morgan for six weeks.
I moved into the spare room of his house two weeks ago and I now find myself at the centre of his world.
I liked the guy immediately.
I liked the books on his book shelf and I liked the surf boards on the back deck.
He made me feel welcome immediately.
We shared a couple of beers and talked Sydney, travelling, surfing and Indo politics.
His absence in the house is tangible and the windows rattle a little louder at night.
My thoughts are with his family and old friends.

Mate, I regret not knowing you longer.
